teal-duck

Importing project to eclipse

  1. clone with git with git clone https://github.com/teal-duck/teal-duck.git
  2. install gradle to eclipse
  3. Help -> Install new software... -> Add... (Name: gradle, Location: http://dist.springsource.com/release/TOOLS/gradle)
  4. Select only 'Extensions / Gradle Integration' NOT 'Uncategorized'
  5. Press Finish
  6. Import project to eclipse via gradle (https://github.com/libgdx/libgdx/wiki/Gradle-and-Eclipse)
  7. File -> Import -> Gradle -> Gradle Project -> Browse for teal-duck folder (root of project) -> Build Model.
  8. Select all -> Finish.
  9. You have now installed teal-duck to eclipse.

Get changes from GitHub

  1. Exit eclipse.
  2. Run git pull in teal-duck
  3. Re-open eclipse.

Push changes to GitHub

  1. Exit eclipse.
  2. Open terminal, cd to teal-duck.
  3. Run git branch to make sure you are on your correct branch.
  4. Run git status to see all changes you have made to project.
  5. Run git add <filename> for each file added/edited.
  6. Run git commit -m "<commit message>" Try to add a helpful message describing your change(s).
  7. Run git push to push changes to your branch on GitHub.
  8. Open GitHub, change to your branch. There should be a yellow banner saying that you have recently pushed th branch Click to open a pull request.
  9. Complete pull request form and submit.

Add a dependency

  1. Find package on http://search.maven.org/
  2. Open teal-duck/build.gradle
  3. Add line compile "<group>:<name>:<version>" within dependencies {...} for relevant project (core or desktop) See also https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/artifact_dependencies_tutorial.html

Create a new branch to work in

  1. Open teal-duck on https://github.com/teal-duck/teal-duck
  2. Click on Branch: master, type in name of your new branch, press enter.
  3. Open terminal, cd to teal-duck.
  4. git pull
  5. git checkout <branch-name>
  6. You have created and switched to your new branch.
